Powerboat Advanced Course

 
This two day course is suitable for leisure and professional boaters wanting to undertake more adventurous trips in small powerboats by
day or night.

Min Age: 17
Suggested minimum pre course experience: Candidates should be competent to the standard of  Powerboat  Level 2 (coastal),                     with knowledge of navigation and chartwork to the level of Day Skipper Shorebased certificate, VHF Operators Certificate, First Aid Certificate.


Subjects Covered:
  • Day and night pilotage
  • Use of GPS in high speed navigation
  • Advanced boat handling
  • Search and rescue patterns/procedures
  • Power trim and trim tabs
  • Lee shore manoeuvring

    Ability after course: Able to plan and execute coastal trips including return to a familiar port by night.
